2025-2026 Research Assitants

We extend a warm welcome to our 2025-2026 RAs from the University of South Florida!

Sara Cummings is a junior at USF, majoring in English literature and Classical history with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Her literary criticism writing has been published in the university journal, The Scribe, in Spring 2025. She loves to spend time with her family and pets, find rare oddities while thrifting, work on diamond paintings while watching a TV drama, and read every day. Sara currently has kept a daily reading streak for over three years.

Kaileigh Schmitz is an English Literary Studies major at USF, graduating in December 2025. Her research centers on women’s experiences and stories, particularly the exploration of trauma through myth, folklore and mythology, ecocriticism, and transcendentalism. Inclusion and equity are central themes in her writing and follow in her extracurriculars. She is a strong advocate for people with disabilities and serves as president of an Accessibility Student Network organization at her university. She plans to pursue a master's degree in library science and hopes to work in a university library, supporting students in their own research endeavors.

Jeanessa Soto is a pre-law senior double-majoring in English and Political Science at USF.
