She worked in the theatre as an actress, director and costumier. Craig belonged to a number of suffrage societies and sold the Women's Social and Political Union newspaper 'Votes for Women'. She was a member of the Suffrage Atelier, and staged the Women's Freedom League's part in the procession of 18 June 1910. Craig was also a member of the Actresses' Franchise League and produced 'How the Vote Was Won' for the WSPU Exhibition at Prince's Skating Rink in May 1909. She directed 'A Pageant of Great Women', by Cicely Hammond, at the Scala Theatre in 1909, in which Craig played the role of Rosa Bonheur. In 1911 Craig founded the theatre company the Pioneer Players, which promoted women's plays and other progressive works.

This banner was designed by Ann Macbeth, Head of Glasgow School of Art Embroidery Department as a friendship quilt. Ann donated the quilt to the WSPU Scottish Exhibition and Bazaar held at St Andrew Hall, Charing Cross, Glasgow in April 1910 to raise funds for the campaign. The quilt was purchased for £10 by Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence and subsequently converted to a banner through the addition of carrying poles.]</text>
