Description
[This postcard show the suffragettes at work in the information bureau and record office at the Women's Social and Political Union (W.S.P.U.)'s headquarters, Clement's Inn. By 1910 the W.S.P.U. employed 110 salaried staff. Together with an army of volunteers they organised large demonstrations, exhibitions and processions and produced campaign and propaganda material. Close attention was also paid to external press coverage of the campaign. Copies of every newspaper report relating to W.S.P.U. activities were filed and stored in the information bureau and record offices.]
