Dublin Core
Title
Suffragette Procession and Hyde Park Rally
Description
[This postcard shows a Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) rally in Hyde Park on 23 July 1910. The demonstration was staged in support of the Women's Conciliation Bill being debated in parliament at the time. Two processions converged on Hyde Park, one from the west and one from the east. The Women's Freedom League, shown in this photograph, organised a Roman theme for the west procession, focusing on Justice and Victory. The east procession, organised by the WSPU, incorporated an 'Oriental' theme.]
